Match Of The Week: 04.21.07.
April 23rd, 2007.
WWE Monday Night RAW
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels (non-title match)

From around April 25th until May 3rd I was on vacation in CT for my sister's wedding. It made it kind of hard to rank certain matches because I wasn't watching them in real time, but none the less I will do this and try to recap everything the best I can-- if not for you, then for me.
On this week, WWE was coming from England for all of their shows. C.M. Punk made a very quick turn on The New Breed on ECW on Sci-Fi, costing Elijah Burke a match and then giving him the GTS. Smack Down! saw an interesting match of Kane & The Boogeyman vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor. Brian Kendrick was also in action against Deuce.
On TNA Impact, the much hyped match between Sting and Kurt Angle (first ever meeting!) fizzled out in three minutes. But what did you expect from a non-PPV match? Later in the night, Christian vs. Sting would end in around eight minutes. TNA really needs a two hour time slot to put on better, longer matches.
While RAW had mostly low points, the one thing that stood out was just an awesome non-title match between Shawn Michaels and John Cena. HBK picked up the non-title victory, but the best part of it all I'd say would have to be the fact that it lasted for almost an hour. I don't think WWE has had a television match go this long since they had 60 Minute Iron Man matches some years back. If WWE continues this trend of wrestling, they could actually be doing something good for a change.
