Match Of The Week: 12.02.06.

December 8th, 2006.
WWE Friday Night Smack Down!
The HooliganZ vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor (non-title match)

For the second week in a row, this match has gone to Smack Down! and it has also gone to the HooliganZ. Why? Simple: Look at the competition.

TNA Impact seems to be getting weaker. This week, they had only three matches. Two were pretty simple squashes or no contests with Petey Williams vs. Homicide and Senshi vs. Eric Young. Also, there was a big six man main event I kind of enjoyed, but since I feel Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle should be playing opposite roles right now, I can't give it the win.

WWE RAW wasn't much better though. The Highlanders fought Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch, Victoria crushed Maria, Carlito fought Viscera and the main event was DX & The Hardy Boyz vs. Rated RKO & MNM. Eh. Not much good. Though Shelton Benjamin vs. Super Crazy nearly won, if the match had just been longer than three minutes. (That's bad RAW booking for you!)

ECW was actually the only thing that came close to winning this spot. Sure, they had a rather boring Big Show vs. Lashley title rematch, as well as another Daivari vs. Tommy Dreamer encounter... But, still. I would have voted for the match with Rob Van Dam and C.M. Punk teaming together, if not for them facing the former WWE losers of Test and Baldcore Holly. I also really wanted to make Ariel vs. Kelly Kelly the winner, just because Kelly Kelly got beaten pretty badly and then dumped by Mike Knox afterwards-- which was hilarious-- but some of the heat was kind of taken off of it by the Maria beat down the night before.

Smack Down! had Kane vs. Mr. Kennedy, Batista vs. Finlay and The Miz vs. Scotty 2 Hotty (Amongst other "winners", haha), but this match just stood out the most in my mind. The HooliganZ are bringing back tag team wrestling and this is just the beginning. As long as they keep fighting and doing their tag team thing, I'm going to keep voting for them!
